I have a 2020 2600rb with factory Westlake tires load range E.
They still appear to be in good shape 5 years old. I plan to put some miles on this season and thinking to replace them just for the peace of mind.
Is Goodyear endurance still considered a good tire? I’ve read some negative comments.
Any recommendations on tire type to look at?
 
What amount of weight is actually on your axles. Best to have the most recent weights to be able to advise accurately. Personally, I'm not a big fan of the Endurance tires.

The endurance seem to be having issues now just like the Marathon tires before them. I have also had good luck with Carlisle since they brought out their newer tires. Really depends on weight needed and tire size since the Coopers are 17.5" tires.

My Westlake tires load range E where about four years old I went on a 800 mile trip and three of the four tires had separated. I replaced them with Hercules strong guard tires from Walmart. I’ve had them on for one season and they are fine. I also replace the valve stems with Colby solid Brass stems because I noticed that the OEM valve stems with TPMS were flexing and leaving a mark on the rim. Now no more flexing!

I do plan on installing tpms and putting solid stems on whe I get tires done.

I put Carlisle Radial Trail HD Trailer Tires - ST235/80R16 on my rig last year. No issues and good reviews
 
I think you can find good and bad reviews on just about anything, so it makes it difficult to gauge just how bad something is sometimes. Anyway, we have Goodyear Endurance on our RV and now have 24,000 miles on the first set. They are showing no abnormal wear, no blowouts, no other issues. I rotate them (X pattern) every 10,000 miles when I do hub maintenance (pull hubs, clean thoroughly, check bearings, regrease, etc.)

In reality, I think you will hear more complaints about tires wearing prematurely due to suspension issues than you hear of tread separation or other issues like that, although clearly those issues do happen as well.

I consider it as good as any in the weight class. As to negative comments, you will find them for all brands. They all have blowouts and flats and probably very few failures due to construction. I'm not aware of any other 'E' rated tires that are rated higher in the community.

Side story...
I had a blowout with an Endurance once. But it was pre TPMS for me and I may have run over something and drove on it flat for 20 miles. I didn't stop until I noticed smoke coming from the passenger side of the trailer. Once stopped I found even the rim sanded down a half inch. So....tire failure? Maybe. Just a flat I drove on for a while? Maybe. Bought a TPMS after that occurance.

So really tough to read posts and make a decision.
When you read about China bombs and see some of damage caused by blowouts I really want to avoid that.
 
There's a lot of choices in the 15" E tires. Problem is there's a lot of junk out there. Considering that a lot of manufactures are putting GY Endurance on as OEM that means there's 1000's of them out there which means there's more opportunity for failure. I highly doubt there is zero failure with every tire made. Internet RV forums have a way of blowing things out of proportion. You can get 1 guy with a tire issue and have 4-5 pages of people yakking about it. Makes it look like a huge problem.

I had GY Endurance as my OEM tire on my 2019 TT and put close to 17,000 on them. They still had tread left for another season but because of a bent axle a couple got worn out and needed replaced. Since I have 16" tires I went with Sailuns because I feel it's a stronger tire with more tread depth. If I had 15" or if Sailuns weren't available I'd stay with the GY. You're going to take your chances with any ST tire.

I didn't mention that mine with 24,000 miles actually show minimal wear, so unless I hit a curb and cause some problem with alignment I'm expecting to get another 20,000 out of them. Of course, any tire can blow at any time so luck plays some part in it too. I've been running Carlisle's on my boat and utility trailers for years and never had a blow out; but some people would say those are terrible tires. You just have to pick one and go for it.

Definitely _do not _ do this. Change those crappy tires ASAP. We got 10,000 miles in on Westlakes on our 2021 and two blew within 100 miles of each other. Even wear, didn't look particularly untoward, tire temperatures consistent, proper air pressure. Basically, they peeled like cheap retreads. There is a reason GD dumped them. Endurance sure aren't cheaper.

We got Endurance, but seems that may not be a great idea, either. If they don't do well, next step is probably a slight lift and 16" wheels and go to Continental VanContacts.
 
There are lots of opinions about quality tires. We got rid of the Westlakes immediately after purchasing our pre-owned Reflection 315RLTS. I chose the Sailun S637 ‘G’ rated tires from Buy Sailun S637 (Trailer) Tires Online | SimpleTire. We are not ‘high mileage’ travelers but I have been very pleased with these tires that are now going on year #3.

I run TPMS and check tire pressure before each trip. I also purchased aluminum valve stems to assure there was no issue with galvanic corrosion from dissimilar metals. Happy travels!
