Welcome to the GD family! We use a Progressive Industries Portable 50 AMP Electrical Management System. They have a hardwired version too.

I have a surge guard at this time but will be upgrading to the management system for next year. I have been very pleased with what I have but started reading about the features of the management system and being an EE it makes sense to get the added protection.

What is the difference between a Progressive PT50C AMP Portable management system and the Progressive EMS PT50C surge protector?

I got the management system installed at the dealer. Works great but if you use a generator it will think there is not a ground so you have to switch it off. It will still do it's job of surge protection and open curcuit even off. Great unit
