Hi everyone.

It has been a crazy year. Retired in May, new truck in June, then a new 5th wheel in July - all unexpected. I grew up camping and loved it as a kid and young adult. Bought a 32’ 5th wheel in 2000 primarily to live in while working 2 hours from home. Several long trips and the occasional weekend adventure - my wife’s first exposure to the RV life. Sold that one in 2006 and always talked about getting back into it after retirement.

We had never heard of Grand Design, and weren’t really looking to purchase anything when I stumbled across the Reflection 303RLS. It had the perfect floor plan for us - my wife is VERY claustrophobic and would never consider anything that left the bed feeling boxed in. Having the bed in a slide-out would never have been an option for her. The 303 fit the bill perfectly. After some extensive research including this forum, we pulled the trigger.

A 5 night shakedown run last month went very smoothly. Everything worked as it should. Looking forward to many new adventures. Also thinking about a few upgrades. So far - hardwired Progressive EMS (great info from this site), Sidewinder pinbox to accommodate the Ram Boxes, and a portable generator. Next will be batteries and additional solar.

Welcome to the forum, hope you enjoy the new 5er. Yes, a robust battery bank really helps if you want to camp off-grid. There's a lot of good resources on the forum if you need help with that.
