Hey there campers,

I'm new to the site. Joined because I'm looking at buying an Imagine 2400BH trailer. Not sure if I will get one new or a couple years old...2020 at least.

TV is a 2018 F150 3.5EB with max tow pkg, 3.55 axle.

Can anyone give me any comments on what to watch out for on this trailer?

I've been reading about:
- slide issues - were these fixed for the 2023 MY?
- flat leaf springs - do they need upgrading?
- thin stock mattresses (ok pretty typical for trailers)
- has GD discontinued this trailer? will warranty/maintenance be a problem?
- anything else to watch out for?

thanks in advance for any help!

I have a 2021 2400bh and haven’t had any issues

Imo the slide issues are mostly consumer error I haven’t had any issues with mine at all

The newer models have the 12 volt fridge and the tankless water heater. I personally would never have a tankless
No issues with my springs either
Put a 3 inch topper on the mattress and works for me
As far as discontinued, yes but there wouldn’t be any warranty on a used unit anyway
As far as trailers go parts and service are 99 percent the same throughout all models

Well, you won't find a new one, unless a dealer has been sitting on one. They were discontinued last year.

Welcome to the forum muz777, we're glad to have you here. Your best bet would be to get a professional inspection done on any used trailer. That way you can know in advance what you're buying. If you do buy the 2400bh, be sure to come back here regularly, fellow owners are often happy to help with any issues that might come up.

I have a 2021 2400
- no slide issues, hold button after open/close for 5 secs so motors sync.
- no leaf issues
- I replaced mattress with 10" foam
- yes subject to dealer stock only

Thanks for the feedback! Tankless is definitely a different experience to get used to, although it might be a worthwhile sacrifice to get the 12v fridge.

One other thing... I read somewhere that the storage compartment and water pump/coupling area in these trailers are not heated? I'm in Canada and I like to camp in shoulder seasons, which means below freezing at night. Is the area totally unheated, or is there some stray heat from the rest of the unit? I suppose a person could install an extra heater line or something to keep the lines from freezing up.

thanks again!

Thanks! How's your towing experience with the F150? What do you use for a WDH, and did you make any other mods to make it a better tow with these trucks?

The front storage is not heated Don’t know a trailer that has heated storage
A person could easily make a vent into the bedroom but could make that area colder
A heater in that area would be easy to do as there is power there

I'm using Camco ReCurve R6 WDH and I have upgraded to Load range E tires. It took a little work to dial in the hitch, as the 2400 tends to be tongue light (mine is at 740 lbs).

6 lug axles, E rated tires, unless you can get one cheap and you want to install new axles with disc brakes and Morryde. Every year but 2023 seem to have had the under specified 3500# axles. The rest list "upgraded" 4400# in the GD parts list.

That's an interesting point: that's where the water enters, why isn't it heated like underneath? I just coil up the excess wire resistance heater I run down the hose inside the door with the extra hose length.9 But yes, easy to plug in a space heater. Pump is in the living space, but yeah, not heated during storage. That's why you winterize. If you are using it, no problem.

I think almost everything 2021-on is 4 season, but make sure it has this label by the door:

Our 22MLE has a heated underbelly and I've thought about cutting a vent in the passthrough floor to let some of that heat in when we run the furnace. I have not seen what the underbelly looks like so this might not be feasible. I've also thought about taking the heat duct that comes out on the side of the bed and running a small extension to the passthrough. I'm looking into it to see if helps reduce condensation along the front wall and bed platform. I might try a small ceramic heater and if that works do something more permanent.

Winnebago has started to run heat into the passthrough storage area of their travel trailers. I don't know if it is fully ducted or just a vent from the underbelly. Other than them I haven't seen any other manufacturers heating the passthrough in travel trailers (that doesn't mean no one else is).

My Momentum has it. It stays very warm in there.

Our Reflection has heated storage and heated underbelly. Just FYI.
It's why some people when going lithium choose to move the battery location.

Lol. I guess I should have specified “in this price point”
This thread is about an imagine not a reflection or momentum etc
