We wanted to purchase a small RV trailer, an Imagine XLS MKE17 - but the Alexander Fire moved up our timetable. We grabbed the dogs and a few things, drove to Wyoming and bought the RV.

We are at Walmart 15 minutes later buying sheets, pillows and towels and at an RV Park a few minutes after that. Thanks to a very friendly neighbor at the park, I set up the new RV.

It was a whirlwind of decisions and flowing cash. The flow of cash continues with all of the accessories I know I need and the ones I do not know about.

I hope I can get pointers from the kind people in this forum.

Saw your other post about the new RV. Welcome again - the the endless whirlpool of spending. hahahaha...:D you'll enjoy the experience... just watch out how much of your money we advise you to spend (on an endless list of accessories and wants)...

Thank you for the response. We are trying to prioritize ‘nice to have’ purchases versus ‘needed’ because of the limited room and weight.

Here I thought owning a boat was a money pit…

Hopefully you didn't have any loss from the fire. I have a friend that lives next to Devil's Backbone and was on edge for a few weeks.

Welcome to the forum.

I have a neighbor with a 17MKE, nice floor plan. Instead of a hole in the water to throw money in, it's a box on the road to throw money in. Don't keep track, you will be happier for it.

Thank you for responding. Our only loss was the buyer for our home which is listed in the market. They got nervous.

There are so many similarities between a boat and an RV. I used to live on a lake and blessed the day I sold my boat(s) and home.

To me, a TPMS is a valuable bit of insurance. You may never need it, but if the occurrence ever arises, you'll be glad you have it.

Thank you for responding. I depend on TPMS in my auto’s. The add-on price of $450 seemed excessive

We almost bought the 17MKE a month ago but went with the XLS 22MLE for more dog room and a less expensive price. You live up the road from us as we are in Longmont. So far we are loving this trailer. It's much nicer then our old Forest River Toy Hauler. Getting old is hard on the bones so selling out our toy and moving on to just camping and fishing; plus, with two dogs now it was impossible for all of us to fit into a 2 seat RZR. As far as the "extras", so far went to dual batteries, vent covers up top and plan on a soft start and additional solar panel later. Then in the spring, a Starlink system so we can purchase more stuff while camping as well as stay in contact out in the boonies. Maybe we'll see you out and about sometime.

I think the must haves are a power surge for electric, a water pressure gauge, water filter, hoses, multiple leveling blocks, viair air pump. Taking good care of your tires and making sure they are properly inflated is, in my opinion, critical--so I would add tire covers to keep them protected from the elements! Also, make sure you have a variety of different types of tools. If you don't have automatic levelers, we have an app that is very handy and a device called Level Mate--and I double check the leveling with a level! Hope this is the type of information you needed! Good luck--hope you enjoy your camper.

Thank you for responding. The 17 was the most I would dare tow with my SUV. Mid-Sept we are aiming for an RV in Black Hawk. It’s at 10,000 feet,…losing sleep over that drive, but I have to find out if my SUV/Trailer can make it

A neighbor has the mobile Starlink on his Mega Type C. He loves it. He uses it as back up for his home internet. They reduced the price of the base unit for the regular Starlink

Update - surely Amazon is aware of me by now. Grill, fold up table, chairs, dishes, rug, mats, mugs…

It is dizzying

We are on our 3rd TT and our 1st TPMS System (2019). Often we questioned that TPMS necessity (even after having a reported loss of air on the 1st road trip during fall of 2019). Fast forward to 2024 with zero events . . . .all was well right. . . .not so as on our annual road trip (8500+ miles} we had 3 actual valve failures (1 road construction and 2 to heat) and 1 over pressure event due to outside air temps being greater than 103F.
We count the price as "part of ownership" for a good reason. Treat it like a "Master Card" and don't leave home without it!

Very logical. Apparently there is little dollar difference between the brands so I will go with the unit that just plugs in

Slime Ball move from GD to have the base wired in nut make you buy the rest. The after purchase rape of the consumer is distasteful. While me expenditures are less than 3% of the cost of my GD, the local dealership made me feel downright violated

We camped at Yellowstone at above 8,000 ft in our 17 MKE and found out that you need to adjust your propane for the heater to work. Just a tip. Agree you need surge protector and water pressure regulator for sure. Recommend the curved wheel chocks that allow you to roll onto them to level side to side. Also a jack block is great for extra jack length and overall stability. Also, recommend a longer sewer waste tube than OEM. Also recommend stick up lights for your bedside cubbies and above the sink. Big doormat, carpet steps for the dog, propane outdoor grill……

How and where do I adjust the propane?

If you wouldn’t mind telling me where and how to adjust the propane, that would be great
