Newbie question - what is this controller ?

Hi,

Ok, feel like this should be obvious but, can't find anything in Owner's Manual and for some reason it didn't come up in either my pre-purchase inspection or pre-delivery walkthru. It's mounted up fairly high in the (only) outside storage compartment of my 28G.

So, far at home plugged in (to 110 for now) and with the solar active, haven't seen it light up or appear to be doing anything.

Hints please ! :)

Thanks,

Peter

OK, can't see much from your picture. WFCO makes chargers and other electrical devices, inverter monitor would be a good guess. Are there any WFCO devices on your build sheet?

If your unit has solar, that looks like the solar charge controller. There should be a booklet for it at the information packet that came with your trailer.

Build sheet has these WFCO entries:

Converter WF-9855-AD
Transfer Switch 50amp
Inverter 2000W WF-5220
CONV.DIST PANEL 12V (50AC and 17DC)

What can't you see from the picture (it zooms in fine for me...) ? That's all there is... The top left button says "UNIT" and the labels on the right of the display say "UNIT readings" and "UNIT setup". I don't know the symbols on the 4 buttons below mean...

As I mentioned - I've never seen the display light up. If it's the Inverter monitor would it only 'wake up' if I used something 110 in the camper ?

@Second Chance
I've enabled the app for the solar (Solar Mate II) and it appeared to be working fine (actually kind of interesting to watch it change as clouds came and went). The build sheet also says the Solar charge controller is a Jaboni (FS-SF100-50).

It is the inverter monitor panel. There should be an inverter disconnect (red key) in the compartment with that display. The solar and battery disconnects should be on the opposite side (driver's side) of the trailer.

It won't do anything unless you are using the inverter.

Ok, yep, I set the Inverter switch to On and then was able to turn it on using the panel - when connected to shore power it showed 120 and when on battery it showed the battery voltage. Nice.

Will spend some time with the manual and see what the settings available are all about.

Thanks !
