My wife and I are picking up our momentum 397 on Monday and have two campgrounds that we are looking at for the winter. Me and a family of five first time RVing in winter. One campground is 775 a month plus electric and propane another campground is 900 a month plus propane electric is included. If we were to go to the one with electric included we can run electric heat and save on propane but the underbelly is our concern, does the underbelly only get heated if you run the gas furnace or will it run off of heat as well? Both places are decent and not far from my work so it's just a toss up on where we go. We won't have a skirt this winter do to all the money being tied up with the new build of the momentum. We are in the Dulles airport area of VA and supposed to have a mild ish winter.

I would go for the one with electric included, if you use electric for heat your bill would pretty sure be more than the difference in the site cost. You would only need to worry about freezing when the temps get below 30deg. On those cold nights you would want to run the propane furnace to help keep the basement warm enough to not freeze your pipes because electric heat in the living area will only put a little heat into the basement. You will probably want to get a heated hose for the city water supply too, it will make life less worrisome.

That's kinda where we are with it. Since we won't have skirting this year we don't want any major disasters to show up. If we use the furnace at night with the underbelly enclosed and using the furnace will that put enough heat down there with the 12volt pads on the tanks? Without skirting I know we'll lose a lot of heat

It should put enough heat in the belly to keep things from freezing, at least that is what it is designed to do. Never had mine in freezing temps except for a couple of overnight frosts which were nothing to worry about so I have never really tested the system so see for sure.

I spent the winter in Bath PA in a cheap, but new TT, before retiring to check out the full time life. Just skirting no heating under the camper at all.
Never had anything freeze at all. I cut an opening to get to and reclose for the dump valves, water hose was heated and insulated. That tt had no heat to the underbelly.

A dehumidifier was a must.
