Good day all. I have a 2016 GD Momentum 388M which I bought a couple of months ago. Previous owner said there was nothing wrong electrically. When I drove it home, I plugged it in to the outlet and had it on shore power. All items DC and AC work. Here’s where it gets interesting. One day I came home and a worker had inadvertently unplugged my connection to shore power. I thought “no problem, the fridge will have switched over to propane and the batteries will have supplied power”. Not the case. In fact all DC to lights and fridge were dead. I tested the batteries on my charger and it reported that the batteries had a short circuit. Being older batteries I changed them out.
- So fresh batteries
- Voltmeter shows 12.8 volts (2x6volt in series)
- Leveling unit shows full voltage
- Battery disconnect key is in an in the “on” position and I tested it with a tester light.
- Battery main is on in the battery compartment
- No blown fuses in the main panel (all checked visually and no lights on
- All post terminals are tight and no visible broken wiring.

Folks I’m at a loss. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I’ve Googled and YouTubed like crazy and looked through the manual.

Usually, this problem is resolved by switching the battery disconnect switch to the correct position (the terms "on/off" are a bit confusing for a disconnect switch). Usually the switch has a red key and if you can remove the key, then the battery is disconnected, if you can not remove the key, the battery is connected to the rest of the coach. The key/switch often gets bumped when you are moving around something in the hold.

Check to see if the voltage increases when you plug into shore power, this should engage the converter and change the voltage at the batteries. If you don't see a change in voltage, switch the battery disconnect to it's other position and check the voltage again.
