No hot water

I have 2019 21 BHE and bought this used last October,. I just noticed that I don't have hot water on electricity but have some on gas.
This morning I went to have the heating element changed and I still don't have hot water.
Can someone tell me what the issue is?

Is the water just not hot? Is it warm or cold?

Do you have the bypass valves correct or an outside shower with the valves on mixing water?

Is the breaker on in the electrical panel for the water heater?

Looks like we're clearing all the simple fixes first. On some water heaters, there is a small rocker switch on the unit itself that needs to be turned on for electric heat. It's usually buried behind stuff behind the wh cover. Also, make sure the inside switches are set to electric and not gas.

I wonder if you have a bad thermostat? Not really sure how to check them, a continuity test I would think.

As John said above, on our Suburban water heater, there is a small electrical switch in the bottom left corner of the water heater. It is accessed from outside the trailer by removing the water heater cover (same as you would to drain the tank or replace the anode). Both that switch and the electrical water heater switch must be on for our water heater to work.

Also, check that your outside shower valves (top of the Nautilus panel) are turned off.

You may also have a bad heating element. It take very little to destroy the electrical heating element if you turn it on without water in the tank. Easy to check with an ohm meter.

Issue is resolved.
It was a bad wire connection behind the breaker box.

But the mechanic started by changing the heater element which took 2.5 hours. What I don’t understand is he had noticed the one that was in there had resistance on the tester . He said that sometimes this will not heat even if it checks ok. Therefore he changed the element for nothing . Cost to change 280$ . I had to bring it back the next day just to find out it was a bad wire connection. I wonder sometimes why he didn’t test the current with the voltage to see how much current is going to the element.
The truth will never really know.
