Hi, I am trying to understand why I cannot open up images posted in some threads.

Hi Mike, to have full access to the forum, you must be a Site Sponsor. When you joined, you were a Trial Member and had full access for the first 30 days. After that time if you decided not to become a Site Sponsor, you became a Registered Guest with limited access. Site Sponsors pay $12.00 per year for full access and that money goes to the owner to pay for V-bulletin usage and other charges he has to run this site.
