When hot water heater is on gas it cycles a lot
Gas burner runs about 10 to 20 minutes to heat up water then off then the burner fires up about ever 3 to 5 minutes after that I’m thinking to keep water at a temp
But I was needing to know if there is a way to make it have a bigger window for starting and stopping????

Hi Trailboss,

We only fire up the HWH when we will be needing or using hot water, otherwise it is off.

Good Luck

If you want to just turn it on and let it do it’s thing, you should check basic stuff first.

1. Verify all connections are solid and good
2. Jiggle the wires a bit and see if it changes the behavior.
3. Check for bad ground
4. Check all voltages and ohm readings
5. Check airflow

This is all stuff you can do without replacing parts

Not too many things would cause short cycling like that

Thermostat
Gas tube
Airflow
Spark
Gas valve
Circuit Board

Good Luck
