Opinions: Slimrack slideout system

My new camper (2024 Reflection 22 RK) has the Slimrack mechanism. I haver had this system on other campers (or even heard of it). It has worked great and I like the looks of the aggressive teeth on the drive bars. In an effort to understand it better I'm curious how others have found it. Any words of wisdom for me?

It's been standard build on Winnebago motorcoaches for years. In fact, they used Schwintek for a year or two and paid warranty to have them converted to the Slim Rack (was called PowerGear before Lippert bought them)

"knock on wood", I've never seen one with a failure.

They are still very voltage dependent, so a strong battery is a must.

Confirming the above discussion, in the owner's manual for new GD Lineage Class C units with Slimrack the very first slideout operation step is:
"The engine or generator must be running or unit must be plugged into shore power"
which implies you are asking for trouble if you run the slide with battery power only.

So if you're dry camping in a non motorized RV then you need to have a gen to plug into to run the slide out?

Perhaps you could stay connected to your truck (engine running) as you level up and open your slides.

No, most manufacturers put that statement on motorized units to have consistent 12 volt power.

If your battery is good, and charged, there are no issues.

I have the Lippert "Slimrack Plus" slide on my RV and they don't include printed manual and you have to rely on a QR code on slide controller box. I'm going to print out these two PDFs and keep in the RV since Internet access is far from given when your slide has a problem! Also, I noted they provide multiple options for dealing with a unruly slide:
