Pass-through wall material

Our 315 RLTS has some sort of material that covers the structural elements in the pass-through. It looks and feels like it is some sort of thin carpet-like material glued(?) to a thin wood (thin plywood, maybe?). Might also be a thicker cardboard material. Anyone know for sure what it is?

Towards the back is piece of luan board covered with carpet. The rest is carpet.

The carpet is the same stuff used to cover speaker boxes, etc. MoonShadow_1911 is correct - it's thin piece of Luan behind it on the back wall.

Thanks, gentlemen. I'll get some plywood for mounting the new electrical stuff.

That's what I did. I wish recommend buying a couple of 8' 2x2s to make a frame out of. In some cases, the luan is just hanging in free space.

Gonna do the same thing in our basement next to the passthru. Want to hinge out a door opening in the basement (for inspection/maint) and permanently mount my Watchdog EPO between the framing for the main 50amp power line with male/female 50amp connectors.

Unfortunately, this is a bottom of the bucket list to-do. But it is inching upwards!

Lol! That was one of the first things I did. I've got a door to access the back of the Nautilus panel, I've got a door to access the main part, and I've got a door to access under the stairs (which is where the One control "brain" is located).

It was easier when we didn't have anything in the basement!

"It was easier when we didn't have anything in the basement!" LOL! That pass-through space was a lot bigger when it was empty.

Yes, it was. I'm still shocked at how much crap we have in there though.

ESPECIALLY you fulltimers! Friends of ours are fulltimers and I got a peek at their passthru...... WOWSERS! That thing was packed to the top and sides, and so was their F350 Dually. Gotta have sime kind of storage method system to find stuff in there!

I guess something to look forward too when we decide to do it.

Bins, that's what we use. The Rubbermaid totes.

Has anyone inserted slider rails instead of hinged doors for easier access?
