Photography - show off your shots!

This is hard to imagine - almost spooky. Usually we have snow from a clipper or nor'easter but a front follows and anything on the trees is gone in a day. But Day 3 and everything is so quiet - no birds flying around, no squirrels or chipmunks, no wind, snow still glued to all the tree branches, sky the same white color - like time is standing still. Surreal. Images of the winter palace from Dr Zhivago keep coming to mind. Yet just a couple miles down the road - very little left.

After 3 days:

Just down the road from you, our experience is similar. Quiet, no sun, little wildlife.

I'm totally envious. I live in a place where many people think we have snow year round yet there's barely any snow! Ice houses are being pulled from lakes so fast. Record temps today across the entire state. I miss winter already!Dang you El Nino!

Bard_Generated_Image.jpg

Not a photo, but this is what an AI (Bard) generated when asked to do a painting of an RV camping by the bay.

Uck, hate AI generated graphics foisted off as photos. Some, many perhaps, don't bother to acknowledge that fact, it's just "Ooh, ooh, look at this amazing photo".

So I wonder if it can alter the picture based upon style or specific painter requests and what the results would look like, i.e. an abstract RV?

It likely can do more than we really want to know or see. Some of the AI generated photos on line are very cool looking and no where near reality.

Yes, you can get pretty specific with the prompts you give the AI. I'm just getting my feet wet, there are multiple AIs, each with different capabilities and restrictions. For instance, when I asked for a picture of a Reflection 5th wheel, Bard wouldn't do it. I suspect they didn't want to run into copywriting issues.

They're Baaack......

For the past few years we have had some Yellow Capped Night Herons nesting in the pine tree above our gazebo here in FL. They are the messiest birds! not the best at making nests with sticks everyplace not to mention the poo they leave all over the gazebo. This year a tarp will cover the cloth top for easier cleaning.. love having them near by but hate having them above our site. Last year we had 2 pairs, the same 2 returned (I think it's them) and keeping my fingers crossed the little ones from last year don't join in the fun...

We have a mini rookery going!

Just having fun in the campground. I think just about every kid at the campground was at our campfire that night. It was a ton of fun.

We have been volunteering at Umpqua Lighthouse in Oregon for 3 months. We move on June 1st. We have had some crappy weather and some beautiful weather too. Here are a few pictures.

I just love those shots! not sure if the top or botoom is my fav.. My brother has bears pass through their yard often in SC and sends videos of their antics now and then.
It was all fun until my SIL saw them pass the big windows up on the wrap around deck. That one scared her!

Thank you! I was truly excited to see them. They were across the street in my neighbor's yard. Sounds like there may be another bear with two cubs. We've had fox as well but they've been too sneaky to get a good picture. I did use my Galaxy S23 Ultra to get these pictures. I was happy they turned out!

I hope you get some shots of the current Northern Lights storm, you're in a prime viewing area

Here's a hyperlapse video from Saturday night's northern lights. Shot on my Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra. 1 hr of recording at 300X speed resulted in this 12 second video.
