Photography - show off your shots!

Nice shot! did you take that with your phone? Layers?

It was a single shot with my phone. I used Pro Mode and took a 30 second exposure at ISO 640 and White Balance at 4100K. I then used Lightroom Mobile and masked the sky and adjusted Dehaze, Clarity and Texture. That was basically it. I was happy how it turned out considering it came from the phone.

Here are a few from Duluth, MN.

WOW what a treat !! Thanks for sharing. We are so light polluted I doubt there would be any visible here

We are out in the countryside, about 10 miles from town, but the lights from town in the horizon affects some of what I can see, so I can only imagine it that aspect did not play into it. I'm just really surprised, as far south as we are here that it's even visible at all.

Just checked, nothing visible to the naked eye. ?

We had a good view from our driveway.

We know what causes these lights, but I wonder what the people must have thought in the ancient times.
Same thing with eclipses, falling stars, etc.

We took our annual drive across the Cherohala Skyway to see the fall colors this past Friday, Oct. 25th. This unique road starts out in Tellico Plains, TN and ends up in Robbinsville, NC. The name, was chosen because it is a combination of Cherokee (National Forest) and the Nantahala (National Forest) which the road runs through both areas. There is gas/food/etc on both ends, but nothing in between those two point and it's approx. 50 miles long and the elevations change from around 900' above sea level in Tellico Plains, to a little over 5500' at the top/peak areas, then back down to around 2000' in Robbinsville. Peak color changes start out at the top because of the colder climate up there, and work their way down the mountain until everything has been through the color change cycle for the year. Our trip Friday had the higher elevations mostly brown or bare, while the lower areas had not yet hit the peak of color changes. It is very remote/isolated up there, yet there were literally hundreds and hundreds of cars/trucks/motorcycles passing through to catch a glimpse of nature's beauty in full display. What a great day it was......I took about 40+ shots and these are just a few of the sights.
