Well, the haggling has been done, my trade-in has been delivered to the dealer so they can swap some stuff into the new coach and we are really looking forward to this. This will be our 4th RV after a trailer, a Class A and a fiver - we've been around the block and this coach has me far more excited than the others. It's unique with the under-bed garage, tons of living space, great construction (at least what I can see) and loads of great features.

First couple of weeks are dedicated to installing an internal voltage regulator/surge protector, satellite dish, a bunch of storage solutions, snap pads, fitting the motorcycle chock in the garage, RV Locks, rear cam and checking every nut, bolt, plumbing connection, outlet, wire and screw I can get my hands on. Then, running the daylights out of all systems, Next will come disk brakes. After that, we'll be making a short two week maiden voyage to work out the bugs. When these things are new is when they are the absolute most fun - even with the bugs that need working out.

I'd appreciate any tips you might have based on your taking delivery of your Solitude when it was new. Lookouts, hints, anything. Thanks in advance.

Safe Travels.

Great choice in my opinion, since I owned the twin sister model to yours.

What makes this model great to me and my wife is this. First, you can keep your motorcycle in the garage protected and still have all your living space available to you. You do not have to remove your “toy” all the time. Also, you can sit and watch TV as if you were at home with the front living space. No more looking up and/or sideways to watch TV. Some of the toy hauler layout for watching TV are not exceptable to me.

We travel with either the Harley or a golf cart. Had to modify the golf cart top with a hinge set up so that I can lower the top below 66 inches to work the way that I wanted to. Once done it works out great.

We'll be alternating between the Gold Wing and a golf cart, depending where we're going. You don't happen to have pictures of that hinge set up handy do you?

I copied a guy on You Tube. Googles golf cart folding tops (or something close to that). If you don’t fine it, let me know and I will get pictures tomorrow. Cost me less than 25 bucks.

Found it. Perfect solution. The only change I’ll make is detent ball pull pins in place of the bolts that need to be removed.

Thanks for this great tip.

^^^ I have thought the exact same thing and haven’t gotten around to trying that. The concern here is that it has the possibility of rattling. The wingnuts work and are easy to use keeping everything tight and rattle free.

Again, I plan on trying it. My thoughts on that is hole size will need to be very snug fit or else there will be rattling.

Make sure that you use the clamps while drilling your holes and difinitly insure that each plate is mounted in the exact position that you drill it in. This makes the fit of the bolts very easy unless you drill at a perfect (and I mean perfect) right angle every time.

The video suggest using a jig saw. I burnted up the blade after the second post. Used a hand held hatch saw. Believe it or not, was much faster. The angle of the cut does not have to be exact at all, however, you must have an angle or it will not fold back.

Good luck,

FYI: If you do this, everyone will ask you how did you do this.......LOL

Only real issue we had was the cheap connections on the pure sine inverter. Everything was working perfect at PDI, towed it about 800 miles and everything worked but the residential fridge. Found that the connection inside the back of the inverter had come loose (after taking the inverter out and having it tested). Only other issue has been the top of my hutch (behind recliners) has cracked. I’m gonna give it a few more months before taking it in for warranty work.
