Plastic on Recliners?

I have the three recliner Thomas Payne sofa. The two outer recliners have a piece of plastic on the leg part. How do I remove these? They look like they are stiched in.

Thanks for the link to remove the Plastic Wrap.
We currently have some hand towels, they look good, taped to the foot rest.

The previous owner of ours removed the plastic covering. I wish they were still on the recliners, foot rests get dirty without them. Even without shoes on.

My feet stick way past the plastic covering. My legs stick to the plastic when wearing shorts.

I removed the plastic in two recent RV's and it just takes a tug starting from the edge. The plastic gives way before the threads on the material.

The only way to prevent such sticking is to have a fabric material that can breathe. Unfortunantly GD does not offer this option.
