I just have to say this. I notice various posts where a person takes the time to start a thread to ask a question or share an observation, then they are never heard from again after several others respond to help or engage in the conversation. If you ask for help, let people know if responses helped or not. I like to see if the issue was resolved or not. I do realize these are not in-person conversations, but it doesn't hurt to provide a quick update or acknowledgement. Okay, rant complete.
:thanx:

I 100% agree with you. We are all diagnosing/offering advice from afar and it would be nice to know if we helped...or just as important even if your advice didn't help, what fixed it. Kind of referencing NB Canada, some people just want to hear 'Press this button or turn this on and you will be good'. And if it isn't that they take it to a dealer.
I think it is also possible for some people to be overwhelmed by the different opinions on how to troubleshoot an issue. And while we are all trying to help, five of us can offer advice that attacks the problem from five slightly different directions...leading to confusion with someone that is not really very 'hands on'....so they give up thinking there's just too many things to check.
However, when the op posts up the solution to problem, if it hasn't been done already I thank the op.

I tend to respond to new posters with questions before I spend much effort answering. If they answer, we have more to work with. If not, it saves me the effort of a wasted post. For example, if they say they need help with their refrigerator not being cold enough, I’ll ask what refrigerator they have and let it ride until they answer.

I agree with this rant. Sometimes a responder will go out to look at their rig,or measure something or search online for the solution, post the answer and wonder what happened....

Just remember, it's not always the OP that benefits from a post. We have many members who have never posted, they just browse the accumulated wisdom for ideas or solutions. You never know who you might help with your answers.
Good point. I also try to respond with a solution when I’m the one seeking help for the same reason, even months or years down the road.

Very good points. Many different suggestions and ideas might help us that like to work on these things or have experience, but I could see that being a problem for someone that isn't so into it or that doesn't have much experience.

It really bugs me that people take the time to ask question but never bother to acknowledge any answers - not even bothering to come back to their post and even click on the "thanks" or "like" button.

Sure - most of learn something. But, for me, I find it rude that folks don't respond or thank others for trying to help.

You read my mind! Great point. I almost started the same thread a few weeks back. Someone asks a question and people take the time to provide thoughtful answers, and then crickets from the OP. In most cases I’ve stopped answering questions unless I know it’s a regular poster

One of the members hear on Grand Design, had joined a diesel forum i am on. Fist post, was a question, then went silent. I asked where the OP went, and that got a guns a blazing response.

Its a hobby now, for me on a forum to look at how many posts, of a new poster, if the post is a known debated topic.
Also there are the first post, this sucks that sucks and never comes back, just stirs the bee nest.

You can measure current from the controller. Should be 15-16A for all 4 with the breakaway pulled. You either need to breakout the brake wire with a little wiring, disconnect in the junction box or use a clamp on ammeter. You may be able to hear the magnets. If you have someone pump the brakes, they make a very faint buzz. Some people hear better than others. You may also be able to detect it with a handheld compass.

I think they call that trolling.
Give that man a cigar.

See it often on the truck forum I’m on. Not so much on the boat forum I mod but that could be because they haven’t made the hulls since 2005 and we are a rebuild/refurbish forum.

Sad really.
