Looking to buy a Camco Rhino Heavy Duty 28 or 36 Gallon Portable RV Waste Holding Tank.

Any size recommendations? Or competitors I should consider looking at?

I figured a bigger one would be less trips to the dump station but perhaps I may be over looking something; purchase is for gray water removal.

Just remember how heavy water is; over 8 lbs per gal. 28 gals is well over 200 lbs to move. Just consider how you will handle it.

I have the 28 gallon. Works great. Tows awesome
We use it for black and gray and has served us well

Easy to move around when full

Figured the wheel barrow action would alleviate much of the weight issue. Would assume so.

Do you think the 28 gallon is an ideal maximum size in regards to weight and moving it around? The 36 gallon would be great but the extra weight in comparison is a consideration.

I purchased the 28 because my previous trailer had 28 gallon tanks

It is big enough for me. I wouldn’t want the 36. It is bigger and cost more

It is heavy when full but rolls okay.

I know this may sound weird but I actually enjoy trucking it back and forth. Just something different while camping

I have the Camco 36 gallon. Purchased on black Friday at a good price. It is a pretty big one but that doesn't mean you have to fill it up. I have filled it up and I was able to move it to the back of the truck for transport just fine.

I have 2 grey and 1 black so the larger size does mean fewer trips.

Good to know it's not too heavy, my girls like to use water; lots of grey water to be captured - two grey tanks as well.

I use the 28 gallon and it is heavy enough. I wouldn't want anything bigger. I have a 50 gallon black & two 50 gallon grey tanks. With me and my wife in it full time I empty them once a week & it only takes me three trips to the dump station most weeks. Four trips max occasionally if we had company. It also fits nicely in the front compartment.

Just curious, how do you get it from your camp site to the dump station? Roll it down the road or load it in your tow vehicle? If use your tow vehicle, how do you load it in you vehicle? Manhandling into the tow vehicle 3 - 4 times a week can’t be fun.

It has a loop that hooks to your hitch ball and you tow it

I pull mine like a wagon; i do think the 4 wheel versions make this very easy. Mine does allow the handle to go over the hitch, but I have never used that feature.

I can't say that I enjoy it, but I don't mind doing it at all. I like knowing I don't have to worry about long showers when I don't have a full hook up.

My one other comment; mine came with a really cheap slinky connection. I ended up buying a 3 foot Rhino slinky; much better quality.

One more comment on my 36-gallon Camco. I don't know about other manufacturers but in mine the drain port is on the wrong side of the container. When you pull into the dump station pulling behind your truck the drain port is on the side away from the dump connection. So I have to unhook it from the truck and flip it around. Very stupid design that adds one more maneuver you have to do with a full tote.

It wouldn’t completely drain if it was left hooked on the truck
I just roll it right over to the drain and open it. I don’t use a hose

When it's full can you move it around on two wheels fairly easily? Much like a wheelbarrow? Wouldn't mind walking it to the dumpstation when possible. Is that possible? Or too cumbersome when nearly full?

If you are short you might be able to
I personally would have to bend over to far

It weighs over 200 lbs loaded so I wouldn’t walk it farther than the back of my truck. If the dump station was 100 feet from my site ,which it never is, I still would hook it to the truck
