We are picking up our 2021 2500RL this week and I was hoping to get some advice on preventative maintenance projects I should start right away. My intension is to strengthen or modify common wear items and areas. I hope to get these areas help before they need it.

I have some things in mind, but I am sure there are things I have not thought of.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

The only “wear” item I can think of is the shackles. Is that on your list?

I hear the wet kits are nice but I don’t plan on doing anything until I see it needs it

I'm not sure if this is what you are looking for.
Adjust brakes after 200 km.
Inspect roof for cracked sealant monthly.
Check window sealant monthly
Bearing grease and pack every 5000km
Tire pressure before every tow
Tire inspection before every tow

I am going to do the wet bolts in addition to the shackles and CRE 3000 as the original nylon bushings do not last very long. The wet bolts come with, I think, brass bushings.

How would you know when the nylon bushings are worn out?

Thank you. You have answered my question.

The point of this forum is to help people. I listed something that the op may have thought of or may have not. That is it

I don’t understand why you are pestering me

you can tell they are worn when you hear noise, notice rust around the holes, and or removing them to inspect them. If you do that i would install an upgrade since your half way there already

Thank you for the reply.

This is the first trailer we’ve owned with leaf spring suspension. Early into ownership I read here and elsewhere that the nylon bushings might last one season. I didn’t feel comfortable with that plus I was hoping to get a little smoother ride with all the pot holes. Last spring I upgraded to what’s in my signature and have been satisfied. However, during my research I didn’t come across what symptoms to look for that it’s time to change them.
