As mentioned in a previous post I am considering a new truck, F-450 Lariat trim, ordered for build. The pricing I have recieved back is MSRP plus taxes and fees, less any rebate available at time of delivery. I know Ford superduty trucks have been a bit scarce over the last years so maybe MSRP is the going rate. Any thoughts on what I should expect to pay, or what discount , if any I should negotiate for?

As always, thanks for comments.

The internet is your friend.

Email every dealer as far as you want to travel and get their best price

What someone else gets might not be what you can get

What Canada said. Last November I ended up driving 4 hours to save 15k on our new truck. I don't get lifetime inspections or oil changes now, but $15k buys a lot of oil!

A few weeks ago I would have said its crazy to still be asking MSRP for HD's. But (this is pure speculation) I think your going to see more of this due to the tariffs. Any HD ram that didn't cross the border prior to Tuesday just got 25% more expensive (Contingent on how much Ram decides to supplement the cost) which will make them pretty uncompetitive. A good portion of Chevy HD's the same. I have no idea how GM will handle it. I doubt you'll see just the Chevy's from CA be marked up. They may spread the costs over all the trucks. And who knows about the parts that go into the Ford's, GMC's, and remaining Chevy's still manufactured in the states.

Edit: looks like Auto's are getting a one month pause in tariffs. Not sure if it will affect ordered trucks though. They won't be here in 30 days.

Thanks for the reply's. I live in eastern NC and would go 1000 miles or so to save some real money, gotta love a road trip! Any suggestions for dealers that like to deal in the mid-atlantic and southeast that I should contact?

When we were shopping to replace our F-150 in mid 2023 I found the mega dealers such as Crossroads and Capital didn't want to deal on prices at all. I ended up with Lee Ford since they were willing to deal on the price. I got about 15% off MSRP which included a $500 NC Farm Bureau member incentive. In all cases I was working with the "internet sales" folks via e-mail. I'm not sure how they will be going on 2 years later but it was good enough experience I would have no hesitation dealing with them again.

Prices are unbelievable. I was thinking of going to a F450 also. Found a Platnum King Ranch and the salesman didn't even grin when he says $140000

You might reach out to Granger Ford in IA to see what their pricing is right now. They do pricing below or above invoice so you know where you're at from the start. It would at least provide a good comparison. I drove from MN as nobody could come close to their pricing in 2022.

Chip Giles is the guy I worked with in case you want to reach out: [email protected]

When I was looking for my F450 this time last year, prices were up to $15,000 ABOVE MSRP! I ended up just ordering one as I qualify for X-plan. I saved about 5% below MSRP. I ordered mine in January, 2024 and received it late June. I had a F350 diesel dually before. The F450 is awesome, so don't settle for a F350. If you build identical trucks on the Ford website, the F450 is only maybe $1,500 more than a comparable F350 diesel dually. A lot of the parts come from Mexico and China, but at least the truck is built in Louisville.

Believe it or not.... we found a Superduty dealer willing to sell at invoice during COVID during the long chip wait days. Louisburg Ford in KS. Our new Superduty Lariat was ordered in September '22 and delivered (Job1 build) in April '23. Was one of first 5 to hit KS/MO.

And yes..... would lock in price now [Content removed].

The 6.7 PS engine is made in Mexico. So thats going to bump the price a bit.

Membership in the Experimental Aircraft Association ($48/year) includes access to Ford’s X-plan. I purchased thru the X-plan 6 years ago although I believe some of the details of the program have changed since. Might be worth investigating.

Chad, Thanks for the recomendation and contact. i will reach out and see what they can offer. That will be a very nice road trip from the end of the earth, eastern NC.

So far all but one dealer are quoting MSRP plus fees. One, a smaller, more remote dealer, was 3K less, which I think is just below invoice, although I haven't seen the invoice.

Goducks, I have an F-350 currently and agree the cost difference for F-450 is negligible. The reason I am upgrading is I am hoping the turning radius of the F-450 will help manuvering in tight spaces, and as I get ready to retire I think I should have one last new tow vehicle. My 2019 F-350, only 50K miles and will be for sale if I decide to make this upgrade.

Turning radius is awesome. Have to watch because you can cut corners so close you may scrape the back end.

Nothing like the TERRIBLE turning radius of the SuperDuty F250/F350's! Even the short bed versions!!. Must be a selling point to get us to step up to the F450's. One would think they wouldve improved the F250s/F350s by now.

Off the net:
In the past, Ford offered the wide-track front axle as an option in the F350, but they dropped that option, leaving the F350 with only the "conventional front axle".

My Ram 2500 isn’t any better.

91k Out the door for a loaded Lariat in 2024. Shopped 5 states out of Utah and landed in Boise Idaho for the win. The funny was I ordered the loaded Lariat and a Platinum at the same time and naturally received the Lariat a year ago February.
Just two days ago, I received notification from Ford, That their starting my build on the Platinum, April 2025........ Go Figure!!

MSRP has been standard for the past several years.

I'll be checking soon, to see what they want for it. If I see a good price, I'll trade up......

Love the F450 by the way. The 6.7 HO has been a beast.
