Problem with kitchen slide on 303rls

Hi All

Anyone have a problem with the kitchen slide on the 303?
Ours decided to act up. It makes a loud popping noise and shakes
when going out or coming in. At one time it went out crooked and
I had to disconnect the gear, get the slide even, and connect it back.
At that point my wife pressed the in switch and I pushed it from
the outside to get it closed so we could take to the service center.
I was happy that I was home when that happened.
Little by little I guess we will get rid of the last few bugs.
It's still the best trailer I ever had.
Happy camping. Charlie...

Our kitchen slide at times seems to make a mild popping/snapping noise when in the early stages of extending for a couple inches.....seems to come from the rear of the slide mechanism. When we had it at the dealer for warranty work this past fall neither he or I could duplicate the event......imagine that ! Everything under and in the RV looks fine. I think I narrowed it down to the RV not being perfectly level as when hooked up to the P/U or in a similar nose higher situation. Our manual states to ensure level when extending/closing the slides (this makes sense) and we do this with rare exceptions.

Could the popping noise just be the rubber seals popping into place when the slide reverses its direction?

That is one heavy slide ! With, fridge, stove, pantry, fireplace and 12 other cabinets and drawers full of stuff.
Ours moves smoothly but squeals at times and the motors are definitely working harder than on the light dining table & recliner slide. We always try to get level in both directions or even slightly high on the street side before extending the kitchen slide . . . which will actually lower that side of the rig slightly, as it extends.

Paul--it is not the rubber seals as that noise is familiar to us for many years as our Cougar TT slide did that as well. When we get it out of storage this spring, I will have to take a closer look but as I shared, it seemed to be an isolated issue when more unlevel.

Rob, it is a good thing this heavy slide does not extend as fully as the dining slide or the RV may tip over and getting out the entrance door we would need an airplane emergency slide !
