Hi. We just purchased a 2022 Grand Design Transcend Xplor #TR261BH-2022 travel trailer. We purchased from a private party who had hardly driven it. She kept it at an RV park in Oregon where she was temporarily working during COVID. She no longer needed it, so they drove it back here to Bend, OR where we live. That is not a very long trip. Our first trip was to a campground only an hour from home. Our 2nd trip, this month, was up to WA. When we got to our 1st stop, which was only 5 hours from home, we opened the door to the trailer and our freezer had opened up and all the food was defrosted on the floor. The entire ref/freezer unit was falling out of the cabinet, and the cabinet was falling apart. We have taken it to our local repair place and they say the issue is actually with the slideout carrying all the weight of the ref/freezer cabinet/oven/reclining chairs. They say it was a poor design of how the slideout was done. We are SO upset because we just had slideout issues with a Keystone trailer and got through a lawsuit that we won, fortunately. We were able to purchase this Grand Design trailer which we had heard so many good things about, and what great quality it is. Now this!! The trailer has hardly had any time on the road, and not a lot of in and outs with the slideout due to the previous owner using it in an RV park. Our repair people are going to send me a s synopsis with pictures today so that we can go back to Grand Design and ask them to pay for the repairs. Has anyone else had similar issues with their Grand Design trailers? We were told that quality control was awful during the COVID years.
