Luckily no fire.

Returned to our 2022 Solitude 310GK to strong smell of propane. Checked all gas joints, nothing. Found the extension propane rubber hose from the auxiliary tank to the primary tank had a significant leak at the hose clamp. Shut down the auxiliary tank until repair time.

Not covered under warrantee. Could not find 8.5' or 9' hose. Found steel braided 10' hose with swivel female ends and a few trips for adapters and yellow Teflon tape.

If we had had some way of knowing that rubber gas line would rot in three years we'd have replaced it. Wondering if there are any other propane rotten gas lines on our 2022 310GK w

Wow! That is just hard to comprehend. I would never guess to check all those lines for deuteriation after just a few years. I'll have to add it to my list. Good catch!

Had a very similar thing happen a couple years ago on our 2019 2930RL. I mentioned a gas smell to staff while checking in to the GD rally we attended that year. They sent a GD tech to our trailer immediately (which was 8:30 at night) and they replaced the hose and both regulators at no charge. Was great service.

I had a similar hose crack and leak on my GD. It was the 12” hose that connected the propane tank to the regulator. Checked the hose on the other tank and it was fine. Checked the manufacture date on both hoses but they were both only 3 years old. Bought a replacement off Amazon, a little longer (perhaps it will decrease the amount of flexing while travelling), applied a bit of pipe dope and all is now good. I also never expected to have a propane hose failure that quickly.

If a rubber sees direct sun, it greatly increased chances of cracking--do not know if this applies to OP. Normally tank covers shield hoses from sun, unless cover has been removed.

If hoses are covered, and not bent unusually tight, material maybe substandard and recall should be considered.

We JUST had a similar issue in March with our 2023 Reflection 337RLS. Returning from dinner, I smelled gas as I approached the hitch area of the 5th wheel. As I checked for a potential leak, I found that the propane line from one of the tanks to the diaphragm was cracked and leaking. It looked exactly as your picture of your line. I ended up replacing the line. Fortunately I “accidentally” found the leak. It could have been devastating.

WOW - have to have a look at that. Doesn't the hose run through a hollow frame from side to side in the battery/genset compartment - mine does so no way to inspect unless I remove it. Only about 10" on either side that show and so far no signs of cracks. How close was that where you could actually see it?

We've had to replace the hose twice in the 6 years we've owned our Reflection 230RL. I can do stuff like that, but it's a pain in the ass to have to deal with crappy, unsafe engineering like this. Leaking propane is a fire or explosion just waiting to happen. All the more reason to have an aircraft style checklist to complete each day before moving.
We would never buy another trailer (any brand) with the fridge in the slide-out.
