Propane System Issues

This all starts when the curb side tank doesn't supply any gas, could be Acme nut, regulator or hose.
The biggest question is why is the red regulator on the curb side is in line and there isn't one on the street side tank?
Is the hose from the high pressure regulator (red) going across the coach to the two stage regulator rated for high pressure?
I understand the workings of a propane supply (two stage) system and the components.

(As per your owner manual) If there is an issue or concern with the LP system then shut off the RV propane system valve(s) immediately and contact your dealer, a qualified propane service representative, or our Customer Support for assistance. That wasn't a very helpful response. The primary question was why was the red regulator in the system. It would have been nice for a reasonable response from your engineering department in order to satisfy questions that have been popping up in another thread.

I think the message here is that if we want component information beyond what is published, we need to contact Grand Design directly. The owner's forum is not the place for this. I can kind of understand this . . . and I recall that Grand Design's forum response has been basically the same on the greased brakes issue.

To Chuck's question on the crossover hose, it is marked on the label and printed directly on the hose that it is rated for 350 psi. (Pictures attached).

I have offered my testing and theory on why the red regulator is there . . . but would also like to hear from the system design engineer on his reason for including this component, given that many similar RV installations do not have this. Per earlier discussion, replacing this regulator solved the curb side tank feed problem for some, but did nothing for my similar problem.

I would add a question for the design engineer about why the street side check valve was removed from the switch-over valve in favour of an elbow. Replacing this back check valve seemed to solve the problem for me, although I fully acknowledge that many systems are working just fine from either tank, without this check valve.

Point well taken Rob. I just assumed when we asked a technical question in the "tech corner" which Grand Design does respond to, that we'd get a more technical answer. I assumed wrong.

Jim, to be clear, I completely agree with you on how it would be amazing if we could ask technical questions in this section of the forum (for info beyond what is in the owner's manual) and receive more in-depth information. You and I come from very similar engineering backgrounds and this seems like a "natural" engineering question and answer process. But, a public forum is not where Grand Design is going to publish this type of detail. I have come to understand this.

I also had issues with the curb side propane tank feeding propane. I replaced the switch-over regulator but did not get a chance to test it fully. After reading your post about the second check valve I put the second check valve in. So far the curb side tank is working just fine. I do not have the street side tank open and everything is still working as it should. I had to move the switch-over valve over about an inch to install the check valve. To be fair, this all worked just fine for about the first year or so and I don't think the second check valve was in the system then.
