Hi everyone. New member here.

I will be getting a GD 260RD very soon and I am on the fence as to whether to use the included Curt turning point pin box with a fixed hitch or get the Pullrite Superglide hitch.

The reason I am on the fence is that my trailer will be parked on a gravel pad which will be approx. 4 inches higher that the surrounding grass and I will only be able to drive the rear tires of my truck onto the pad. This will put the truck at a slight nose down angle to the trailer capture plate, possible making it difficult to hitch using the turning point and installed wedge.

So my real question is, does anyone here use the Pullrite Superglide hitch with the Curt turning point? If so what Superglide capture plate have you installed?

I hope to get some great info from the forum, as this will be my first 5th wheel.

Thanks

We dont use the Pullrite, we opted for a Demco Autoslider 18k instead. After pulling our 295RL with a standard 5th Reese 16k 5th wheel hitch, we decided to lockout the Lippert/Curt Turning Point pinbox because of the required removal process to grease the bearing.

The Demco is a true autoslider that doesnt require setting the slide lever when making any sharp turns and it fits under our bed cover. Plus its easy to maintain.

If you use the Pullrite hitch with the Turning Point, you do not use a capture plate, you use the wedge from the Turning Point hitch.

You leave the Turning Point in the "locked out" position, and use the wedge and Pullrite.
