Several RVers responded to concerns about a series of holes found along the rear roof seal of a 2024 Reflection 337RLS. Most members report that their own trailers have sealant or tape fully covering the rear trim, with no visible holes like those described. One member notes that their Solitude model uses Eternabond tape over the edge, while another explains that the area in question is likely a C channel, which can have gaps but is typically protected by butyl tape underneath to prevent... I was doing a roof check on my 2024 Reflection 337RLS and found something that concerns me. This is the first time I have been on the roof because I have had the dealership do that check since I purchased the trailer last year.

On the back edge end of the roof where the roof sealant meets the rear wall frame, there are series of holes between the black frame and the self leveling compound. They are in a pattern where it looks intentional or even normal. I am concerned that the holes are places where water could get under the frame and cause problems. I don't see those types of holes anywhere else along the other 3 roof edges.

Attached are pictures of what I found. Is this normal?

Do I need to fill those holes with caulk or are they designed to be that way?

My Imagine isn’t like that. It has sealant over top of the rear trim

I wouldn’t like that. Nothing can be harmed imo by laying a layer of lap sealant on it

Just for the future though. Checks should be done every 90 days at the most. Unsure how many times you had the dealer do it

ya mine as well has sealant over the top of the rear trim - the darker stuff is the original sealant and the whiter stuff is me doing touch up

My solitude had an Eternabond type tape over that edge. Either way, I’d want that gap filled somehow were it me.

It's a C channel. On my trailer the gap is even larger but is adhering the way it should and sealant is covering all of the screws.

If the sealant isn't adhering well to the base of the channel along the back edge water could get to the screws but the butyl tape underneath should prevent any leaks. I'd probably add some sealant just for neatness and to avoid standing water. Where I would be more concerned is at the ends of the channel where they use butyl putty to seal things. One of the first things I did on my trailer was coat that area with non-sag sealant due to it leaking on a prior trailer.
