Hello to all. Looking at buying my first rv. Grand Design is one of the manufactures i've been most impressed with. Just went to my first rv show and looked at several GD models. They had a new model with rear sliding bunk house. Does anyone out have one of these models? I'd like to know your opinion on this model or even if you do not own one, i appreciate all opinions. thanks

I have a 308 BHS TT, looks to me like it would be ok with one or two kids unless you want to be flipping beds up and down every am/pm. Only 1 bunk bed that flips with a couch below. Also dinette collapses for additional sleeping if you want to do that too. Personal preference. When I go on vac. less work the better.

I hope I am not confusing what you are asking...we have a 323BHSthis model has been around for a few years. It has a slide-out in the bunk house...my kids love it. Comfortably sleeps 4 to 5 depending on size.

Thank you for replying. Sorry for not providing model number before. Yes it is the 30bh model. Wanted to hear any pros and cons of having a rear slide out. This model has all slide outs on one side and rear giving you a 21ft awning. Thanks again

A rear slide is fairly new to any manuf. other than the bunk bed situation described earlier I dont see any issues unless your site is tight for length. Yes u would get a bigger awning for not having a slide on the curb side, you can always add an awning to to slide if you need more awning space if you decide on a diff. model.

We had a Coachman Captiva TT with a rear slide several years ago. The rear slide was the bunk room.
We never had any unique problems with it.

I just looked at the floor plan for the 30BH. Cool! I would think one of the advantages would be you could store a lot of heavy stuff in that bunk room while towing in order to take some weight off the pin. We're going to the Ft Myers RV show this weekend; will check it out if they have one.

Welcome to the Forum.

Saw the 30bh at the Tampa show Sat. Pretty cool looking. One advantage is less length for maneuvering into tight spots, and less space needed for storing rig when not using.
You will not go wrong if you choose any Grand Design model. Best customer service out there!
Good luck with your decision.

Thanks for the imput. So far I've been most impressed with quality in the price point we're looking at. Good to know customer service is on point as well ...verge important in making my decision.
