My wife , Tami was just telling me about a face post she was reading this morning. Seems the Momentum and Solitude U Bolts are now too tight. Well at first they were too loose, now they are too tight?
I remember going back 4 or 5 years now on the forum, we were talking about checking the U Bolts torque at 65 ft-lbs. When I just now changed my leaf springs, I torqued the new 1/2 U Bolts to 65.

In another thread we were just talking about inconsistent wet bolt nut torque. Can't we all get along and settle on a consistent torque valve for some of these things? geeze :rolleyes:

U bolts should be 90 # according to Lippert.
I have now rebuilt the suspensions on 4 RVs, that is every one I have owned. Never had anything come loose afterwards, and once I started using Never fails, I did not have to touch them again.

@huntindog The two recalls were only for Curt axles. It does make me wonder why a two loose followed by a too tight recall was necessary. My Dexters were not recalled and the U-bolts are at 90 ft lbs per LCI.

Probably found a rouge employee was using an impact wrench
