Recall problem

I Have a 303. The access was on both sides, just behind the back wheel. Remove 3 or 4 screws and u will see the connections sitting on the underbelly. Just use a zip tie to secure them just above.

By chance did you take pictures? I have a 2017 3030rls purchased from original owner. They bought it from Lazy Days Tampa. Don't trust them after over charging me to change the hitch over from his truck to mine among other things that I've learned since educating myself more! Looking at a mobile tech doing mine if I can find one around PSL,FL.

WOW This sure brought a lot of interesting comments. In reply to my beginning post GD did help me get service scheduled at a dealer only 55miles away. The dealer could only get me in the 7th of Dec. But that is the best I can do. I didn't know about service techs or if there are any in my area. I am happy to finally get scheduled . The dealer in Maryland that refused service was Beckley. I guess if I decide to get a new trailer I will have to go to another dealer and product. I have had two Jaycos and kept both for 12 years without any issues. Maybe they have changed but so far they were great, Actually the very best was my first Jayco, It was a 24 ft. and had an aluminum roof that I loved. NO roof issues . It also had an aluminum underbelly and shocks. It was great. Actually we did pull both Jaycos all around the US and some Canada including a trip to Alaska without ANY issues. After my two Jaycos we did purchase our first fifth wheel from camping world in Hanover PA . It was a Wildcat, nice layout 30 ft but we had lots of issues with leaks. Camping World serviced the trailer. and they have done the install of my hitch and wiring for my first fifth wheel. The service was fine and they did a nice job with my concerns.
The other thing that gets me is, A RECALL THAT COULD POSSIBLY CAUSE INJURY OR DEATH ! DEALERS THAT SELL THE SAME PRODUCT SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO REFUSE SERVICE TO REPAIR A POTENTIAL LIFE THREATENING RECALL > I Feel grand design should step in and get this fixed with their dealers. If my trailer burns down who is going to be held responsible ?

This seems to be the issue with the RV industry as a whole. It lets the tail wag the dog. I do not relish a lot of oversight, but the industry seems to have none.

General RV (large dealer in several states - HQ and several in Michigan) is a bit problematic. They can and at times will charge you 1 hour per item to look at warranty work. Even after contacting GD with pictures and they also 'think' it would be warranty.

Someone made a comparison to the auto industry indicating they were no better. This would not fly with GM or Ford. If you take it in for just about anything, they will look at it and give you an estimate. No charge unless you agree. Same when you go in for warranty. If it is not, they provide estimate. And the MFG takes dealer complaints seriously.

:(

I think you will find dealers who sell a lot of unit from various companies are mainly the ones who are the ones most people have issues with. That is not to say large regional dealers all are problems. I know from experience the regional dealer we purchased from does try to get units in as soon as possible with as rapid turnaround as they can. But one other store with the same dealer wouldn't give me the time of day when I asked about adjusting a LP hose that was hanging too low at the rear of the trailer.

I do wonder if dealers who charge customers any type of for warranty work (charge to determine if it is warranty, charge for shop materials, etc) if they also turn in those fees to the manufacturer? I once was charged a "shop fee" of $75 for warranty work done by Cal Worthington Ford in Anchorage, AK. They said that was normal around the country, but Ford didn't agree. They forced a refund and sent me to another dealer (65 miles away and paid round trip mileage) to verify the work had actually been done (it wasn't). Cal did loose the franchise in Alaska after an audit. This is what needs to be done with RV dealers who won't do warranty, charge you to touch the unit to see if it's warranty or just totally ignore you after the purchase.

Just my opinion, learned from experience.
