I am looking at purchasing a tire monitoring system for my Solitude 390rk . I’m looking at the TST products, 507 and 770 units. What are the difference’s between the 507 and 770? Is there another brand that I should look at? Are there pros and cons for the 507 vs the 770 systems? Thanks

I have had the 507 system for over 10 years, same monitor and have had to replace a couple sensors. Personally I would stick to the small monitor, I very rarely look at the monitor, and the size would be intrusive. It has an alarm for alerts, that's why I bought it. I don't need more distractions on the dash. :)

I have the flow through sensors and would stick to the regular cap sensors if I were buying a new unit. You end up finding yourself removing the sensors anyway if you have to add more than a pound or two of pressure due to the very slow air flow through the sensor. Not worth it IMO.

I have heard that they changed the alert time if the monitor loses contact with a sensor. The old ones could be up to an hour before the monitor alerted. I have heard that the new ones have a shorter alert time, but do not know that for a fact. It would be worth checking into IMO, because it is about the only fault I have with the TST system.

I have used the 507s for a bunch of years now with no problems, except the color monitor is hard to see in bright light on the dash.

Even though I have high pressure valve stems with metal inserts, I run the non-flow through sensors to keep the weight down. The flow through sensors require metal valve stems, and they won’t fit my particular wheels .

I use the tire Traker TT-600 system. Works great. Only 199 and has a lifetime warranty

Made by progressive industries

Another vote for the TST 507 with the color monitor. I've had mine now going on 4 years ever since I literally threw my TireMinder system in the trash can because of so many false alarms/faults. I'm monitoring all six tires on the trailer and there is room for 22 total if I'm remembering correctly. On a side note....I hope to NEVER have 22 tires to monitor. :ROFLMAO:

i have had my 507 since I think 2012. I finally had to replace the battery in the display unit this spring as it would not even allow the unit to turn on when it was plugged into 12V. Battery is abt 20 Bux CDN on Amazon for it. I replace the batteries in the sensors every few years. The company is awesome to deal with, We had a sensor act up on a trip to Tennessee and after some discussion with tech support there was a new sensor waiting for us at the CG office at the Graceland campground when we got there.

We have the Tire Minder I10. Bought it used from a member on this Forum. Has worked very well and alerted us to all three “going flat” situations we experienced on our last trip to the Great Lakes. We have metal valve stems.

As tempting as it is to get a TPMS that connects to your phone....I recommend sticking with the small dedicated monitor as suggested. I have had the Tire minder SMART TPMS (which has a small BT module you keep in the tow vehicle). When it worked it was great.

I have had the TST507 for more than 5yrs and a bit over 50k miles. It works flawlessly. I am still on the original sensors and battery life is fantastic.

Two pro tips:
-Prioritize good sensor quality/life/performance over any any cool gadgetry in the cab. False alarms or real blowouts both send you into panic mode. Best to eliminate false alarms as much as possible by having good on-the-wheel sensors.
-Get flow-through sensors. If you are getting a TPMS then you care about preventing tire issues and will likely routinely monitor tire pressures. The flow-through sensors make air pressure adjustments easy. I have had the plain caps before and it is not easy for the frequent traveler to adjust pressures.

We’ve run the tst507 on our 390rk since 2021 and it’s been flawless. I do like the larger screen and better graphics of the 770. If I were buying now I would go 770. They use same sensors if I’m not mistaken.
Hard pass on flow through sensors. Too many issues with the extra weight and length for me. Caps are perfect. Use just like a regular valve stem cap when needing to add air.
Going to replace the batteries in my sensors this week as I randomly have a flier alarm and think it may be a low battery.

I've got the flow-through sensors and I highly discourage them. Yes, you can add air through the sensor, if you have a lot to time to spare. Adding as little as 5 psi will take at least a couple of minutes. It takes less than a second to unscrew the sensor, instead of the cap, and add air. A couple minutes doesn't sound long, but when you're standing there holding the gauge to the valve, it seems like forever. The flow-through sensors simply have no upside.

The flow-through sensors have little lock bolts, but I've never used them, and never lost a sensor.

What tow vehicle do you have? Ford Sync 4 has trailer TPMS. If you have the "YAL" all you need are sensors. It's great, shows up in the dash including temps.

We have the GD Imagine 2600RB. What is the proper tire inflation on the Goodyear tires. With the Lippet system, what settings for tire pressure and heat range?

We also have a TireMinder i10. We haven't had to prove how well it works yet from a tire catastrophe perspective. We have found it to be accurate when traveling from MN to AZ in Dec and using it to monitor tire pressure given the fluctuation in temperature. It works great.

I have been using the 507 system for some time now. Once you figure out how to program it, the system seems to work well. I use the flow-thru sensors with metal valve stems. I had to have the valve stems installed at our local tire shop. Not a big deal. Take a look at the video from techno rv and then decide which unit you would like to use. I like the small screen for my setup, which sits low on my center console. I don't really look at unless I have a tire that needs watching. The unit has an audible alarm if there if it detects low air pressure, so you really don't need to look at it while driving.
