I have a 21 310GK that I was thinking about changing to a Reese goose box to open up some bed space. I am towing with a 23 F350LB, and was seeing if anyone had a similar set up.
I am looking to see what goose ball you have gone with to keep bed rail clearance high enough. Reese make a standard height ball, and one that is a bit higher. B&W's is even taller than the Reese.
Would like to have clearance but not run too nose high when the airbag is inflated on the goose box.
No interest in an Anderson hitch.

Thanks

I've got a '22 F350, LB and the Reese Goosebox. I'm liking it a lot after coming from a MorRyde traditional hitch.

I have the B&W gooseball kit. I never measured but have at least 8" between the top of the bed and the RV and a Roll-N-Lock cover and have no interference issues.

Originally I was a bit nose high but it wasn't extreme nor problematic. I have since had the MorRyde IS installed and they leveled everything out with 60 lbs in my AirLift bags.

Finally got Goosebox installed. First trip was from Maine to Pennsylvania.
Very happy with the ride, plenty of clearance with the standard Reese goose ball. Will be adding a 135 degree adapter for the air bag fill on the Goosebox, since the stock fill is a bit of a pain to connect to.
Hitching up is not bad with a bed camera, disconnecting the safety chains would be much easier if I had longer arms.

I did this to fill my air bag. it might give you some ideas. I included a TPMS sensor too just in case I loose air.

As for reaching into the bed to connect the chains (a really problem for me I put hooks on the Goose Box and shackled the chains to the bed pucks (reversed the connection scenario).

This is the eye hook (get good, american steel ones) along with an alternate way to extend the air valve (although I suspect you have a gen 3 with the valve on top).

I have about 21K on ours - pulls very smoothly and had it installed on delivery. I also have a similar fill setup as traveldawg. Had to move from a B&W to a Curt ball since I was 9" and a bit nose high with the B&W though I did like it. About 7.5" with the Curt. Knee pads for the chains.

traveldawg you make a what is the gross of your camper? I've trying to figure out if I should get the 16K or the 20K. My 28BH is about 11000 and 2500-ish on the pin, so well within the limits, but is there any reason not to get the stronger (20K) pinbox? I am also a bit interested in the scenario that my trailer isn't "heavy enough" and I'll be nose-high with this setup.

Second, have you seen or used any of the neoprene "chain socks" that keep the rattling down in the bed?

Thanks!

Obie

My rig weighs out at around 15k loaded with about 3400 on the pin. I have the 20k. It seemed to me I was too close to the 16k's limit. So far all is working well. With your weights I might be inclined just to go with the 16k.

I do have "chain socks". They are a form of stretchy "Chinese handcuff" type of material. I had some laying around for wiring work I had done. They work well.

This is my current air fill arrangement. i found it easier to get to. (and no leaks from the funky air valve that came with the hitch - which i accidentally destroyed one day - lesson learned about enough slack for the air bag to be inflated/deflated).

When I had a lighter rv using an Andersen hitch I kept my chains connected to truck and hooked/unhooked at pinbox.
