I'm new to pulling a 5th wheel, that said, the reese sidwinder airbourne hitch works great except when starting and stopping I get a cluncking noise. I noticed it driving through Nashville TN going up and down the hills/mountians and with road construction, slowing and stopping a lot. The sound is a major clunk like it has a lot of play in the hitch. I was told, "That's the way it is" and there will be a little travel at the king pin maybe 1/4 to 1/2 inch.

It feels and sounds like its more than less than an inch. Is this normal for anyone else....I pull a Grand design reflection 337 rls.

I Have the Lippert Turning Point box with a Reese 16K hitch...... Mine also chucks, but its due to the play in the legs that mount to the bed of the truck where its pinned down to my hitch rails. Apparently some have created shims (between the hitch rail and legs) to make them quiet.
