A member with a Reflection 303RLS reported receiving Grand Design Customer Satisfaction Program 920015 for axle hangers and main rails, then found stress cracks in the frame web on both sides during inspection. Other members with 2016 and 2017 Reflection 303RLS units reported similar hanger or frame cracking concerns, while one member noted the program also references the Solitude 310GK.

Newby hear with a couple of stupid questions...What are the hangers? What year 303s are affected, it seems like 2016 - 2018 are being mentioned in this thread.

I think it covers 2014 to 2023
The hangers are the steel plate you see welded to the frame at one end and bolted to the leaf spring eye on the other end. Six hangers (3 inboard, 3 outboard)on each side of a two axle trailer. Look at the ends of your leaf springs and you will see them. The rears are more prone to breaking because of the way braking forces act on twin axle trailers with equalizers. Probably triple axle as well but I don't know that for sure.

What model year(s) was the recall for ?
I just looked it up..."Grand Design RV Customer Satisfaction Program 920015 affects 2014 to 2021 model year Reflection 303RLS trailers and 2017 to 2021 model year Solitude 310GK fifth wheels. This campaign addresses potential frame web and I-beam cracks appearing above the spring hangers."

Thanks...I looked it up and it is the 2014-2021 303RLS and 2017-2021 310GK

I recently brought our 303RLS to the dealership we bought it from for a slide repair. I asked them to take care of any recalls while it was there. There were 3: refrigerator wiring, microwave heat shield, and the hanger bracket reinforcement.

When they welded on the V reinforcement parts, they found some cracks above the spring hangers on both sides. They repaired the cracks. All at no charge to me.

Could you elaborate on the problems you had with your slide? We have a 2017 303rls that just recently tore our flooring pretty bad. It had been taken back to the factory in 2019 for some reinforcement in the flooring adjacent to the slides. The problem was explained quietly to us by the GD people at a GD rally that same year. Apparently all, or a vast majority of 2017 303s had this problem. They picked it up at our house in Colorado and returned it to us after the repairs were made.
We, also, had the cracks in our frame and actually had a broken hanger, too. 😕

HmmmmI have heard of and dealt with the fridge wiring and hanger brackets...but microwave heat shield? I'll have to check on that one.

@BlkForestCnT

The issue was with the Schwintek slide in the bedroom. We have never had an issue with the living room slides.

Here is a link to the post that talks about the slide issue we had: Schwintek Bedroom Slide Stuck and Won’t Extend

Good luck!

Scott,

I wasn’t aware of this one either until I brought the camper in. They removed the microwave and installed some sort of foil covered insulation, I believe. We rarely use the microwave so it probably wasn’t a big issue for us but I’m glad it”s done.

Actually, I’m not sure it was an official recall. I think it was a Customer Satisfaction Campaign, or something like that.

Our refrigerator wires were routed and secured properly but they had to pull the fridge to check.

Mine were not and they were burned through. Through the outer sheath to the wires.
I rerouted the wire myself at the time so I could go camping. Replaced the burned wire. Didn't need to pull the fridge though. Worked through vent panels. Later a GD tech at a Quartzsite rally checked my work so it could be ticked off on their database records. Used a mirror though. Didn't pull the fridge.

They definitely pulled our fridge. I could tell by the mess they left on the kitchen floor.

Are the leaves turning in Thunder Bay yet?

Our 2019 Momentum had a warranty recall for the microwave heatshield also. It was taken care of by the Grand Design crew at a rally. Basically they took it down so they could see if the heat shield was properly installed. Ours was.
