We have a 303RLS 2020 we both love it except we would really like a King size bed, more closet space and a little more kitchen room. So here is the problem.. we both really like the 337RLS.. but is it really more roomier than the 303RLS?? I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around trading a perfectly good fifth wheel we camp in to up grade to the 2024 or 2025 just for a little bit more space.. I need opinions and advice.. Ours has the carpet still under the theater and dining room and in the bedroom.. the new ones don't. If you don't have the carpet do you like yours? Any input is welcome. thank you.:confused:

Well our situation was a bit different than yours. We had a 40' Keystone Montana that was way too big for the boondocking that we do in the West. We were on a path to get something shorter and easier to maneuver. The Montana had a very large master bedroom and bathroom with a king bed. After looking at lots of floor models across different brands....we chose the 303RLS as the best and roomiest floorplan in the smallest size. We dropped nearly 8' in length and over 4K lbs in weight and are so much happier with our configuration now. We did look at the 337RLS and love that one too including that opposing slide for the king bed and the larger bedroom closets, but it was just not a small enough gain for us to make the downsizing financially feasible in our minds. My neighbor just got the 337 and he loves it. Only you can make that decision. We are extremely happy with Grand Design and the 303RLS model we chose. The floor plan in our 303RLS looks identical to my neighbors from the kitchen hutch wall back. His bathroom and bedroom config are the different portions.

On the carpeting...we love not having carpet in the main area. We only have it in the bedroom. After having carpet in most of the Montana before.....this is much easier to keep clean and it wears much better than carpet over time. Good luck! Both choices are certainly a win!

I second the 303RLS. Eventhough we purchased its lighter similar layout sibling (with no bed slide) the 295RL, the size, weight, and layout were more managible to our RVing experience. Plus, other than a few maint issues, we have had a fairly good run with our RV, and wouldnt want to risk giving it up for a new set of issues...... IMO, something definitely to consider. ;)

Happy Trails on your decision!

I am new to this but can offer my opinion. If everything else meets your needs just remodel the bedroom to accommodate a king bed. If you want new flooring i bet that is a relatively easy DIY job (guessing). A good carpenter can come up with a plan. I think that camping world offers that service too. With a carpenter you can choose materials and might be able to shed some weight.

A question and a comment:

What are you towing with? I ask becuase the 337 can and will put approximately 3,000 lbs. on the pin when fully loaded for travel. Some 3/4 ton trucks are rated for this and can do it; some can't.

Even with the 337 bed slide, a king size bed leaves you very little space to get around the bed - especially on the front side next to the closet. A king bed is not important enough to us to make that sacrifice (in fact, we're queen bed fans, anyway).

Dear Space Traveler,
We have the 337, and looked at the 303 (2020 models) before acquiring the former. Some points:
1. Carpeting - doesn't matter. I have it, and actually like it underfoot when sitting at the dining table. Easy to vacuum - we keep a stick vacuum on hand.
2. Room - the front closet on the 337 much bigger than the 303 slide out closet - dresser. Much more storage space in the bedroom. This was a big deal to us.
3. Bigger basement storage on the 337 - also important to us.
4. This has not mentioned but to me is very worth it - the bigger shower. Instead of the radius shower the 337 has a 4 foot long shower which I love, especially at 6' 2" tall. Because of this, they subtract the door to the bedroom that the 303 has. Don't need two bathroom entries.
5. Queen vs King - ok, so I am a big guy, missus is not. Still, would MUCH rather have the extra side room with a Queen bed than the King. Yes, have a King at home, love it, but don't miss on the RV. Staying with the Queen in the 337 gives you better side room AND you get the small ledges to hold your book/tablet/phone next the the bed.
6. As Rob mentioned, the 337 has a bit more pin weight to heed. Rig is a little longer at around 36 ft, but to me negligible issue.
7. Not sure if you have dual A/C's, but highly recommend.
Overall - gaining these advantages vs the hassle of selling the 303, pricing and acquiring a new rig, etc only you can weigh out. You have a nice unit either way.

After 5 years we sold our 2019 GD 303RLS and bought a 2024 337RLS so I think we went through the same decision process. We also wanted more room in the living/kitchen area and more closet space as we are retired and travel 5 months of the year. We had no interest in the king bed as we prefer the small nightstands and the space around the bedroom area. We are happy with the decision. We really like the hard floors throughout, the larger kitchen area and the closet space. The larger pass through is nice too. As a bonus I got to install a larger “whole house” solar, inverter and battery system. We are really excited and looking forward to our long trips in the new rig. There are some other nice upgrades that we got in the new rig over the older 2019; 12v compressor fridge, light up control panel, tire linc, pet guard on the door and more/better lighting all around.

Rob raises the question I was going to ask as well. We have a 337RLS and after hitting the CAT scale last month the pin weight numbers he references are solid. The 337RLS is pin heavy as our number were 2,950 lbs. That is W/O any solar equipment and only 35 gallons of fresh water on board. we did have two full propane tanks and the second front A/C. This additional weight should factor into your overall decision making.
