So I have a Ram with the short (standard) bed and crew cab, and I am considering going to a BD Companion. Question is would I have the cab clearance for a traditional hitch like that? For Ram owners, do you need the slider or offset hitches or can you still turn tight with traditional 5th wheel hitches?

The reason I want to do this is that with my current gen 2 Andersen, I'm already getting bed rail contact on tight turns which I'm getting sick of. Also it makes installing a sliding bed cover out of the question.

This thread may help with your Andersen.

I used a B&W Companion slider when pulling my 337RLS with a 2017 F350 CCSB. IMHO, I would not chance it with a conventional 5th hitch with a short bed.
