Refrigerator

My husband and I are considering ordering a 380th. A few years back we had a fifth wheel with a Norcold refrigerator. We live in Texas and RV most in-state. In the summertime, the temps go over 100 degrees. In our previous fifth wheel, the Norcold refrigerator just couldn't keep up. I had hoped we would be able to get a residential refrigerator but, it seems that is not possible. Can you please tell me how your Norcold is working out? I guess we would get the 18'. Does your Norcold stay cold in the summer heat? Thanks for your input.

The 18 cubic foot refer has circulating fans built into it, where as the previous version do not.

Should help maintain the temps better that way.

We have had no issues with our Norcold ref. Our neighbor was saying over the weekend that theirs was too cold. I told them just to turn it down then. They do seem to cool better on gas than on electric but all of my rv ref have been that way.

Thanks for your time and response. Do you know if the air conditioners are "whisper quiet"?

"Whisper air" is a marketing term that some brands use to describe their A/C systems.

In dealing with both whisper and regular systems, there isn't very much of a difference.....

My factory A/C is not bad. I had a non-ducted A/C unit installed in my bedroom on my 303. Yes it is load but I understood this before I had it installed. I will say my bedroom is nice and cold! No complaints!

All 3 are loud compared to my previous unit...Newmar with the ducted return air, you could barely hear the A/C in that unit run. The bedroom is especially loud (ducted as well) but I know that has to do with the ceiling height.

Big Mike.

Do any of you know what brand the 18' refrigerator is? Thanks again.

It is a Norcold refer. Newer model, made to fight the residential style refers.
