Replace Door locks with keyless system!

All our other trailers had keyless entry systems, keyfobs or touch pads. We went online and found rvdoorlocks.com. They make a few different systems to replace the door lock handles with handles with built in touch pads that also have keyfobs. Installed both front and back doors of our 380, took 15 minutes each with only a screwdriver...
They synced the keyfobs so both fobs work either door.. works great...

They didn't stay in business long, that domain appears to be for sale.

Originally, the first Solitudes used a keyless entry unit from RVLocks.

It quickly became a high warranty claim item, and was scrapped the first year....

The website is rvlock.Com. I will change the post. I understand about a other type for keyless systems. This is all one piece in the handle itself so maybe it has a better chance of lasting.

That is the exact lock GD was using the first year of production.

I have one of the early Solitudes and as long as I keep fresh batteries in the lock system, I haven't had any problems.

Had a RV Lock on my old unit about 2 years. Keypad got water inside and quit working, but fob works regardless. Was on their website and they make a model with just fobs, no keypad. That is what I will order for the 369.

On their website https://www.rvlock.com/ I do not see a model with key fob only, wonder if they discontinued it. For 5vers they show a version 3 & version 4. To me someone could pull the version 3 keypad off the side of of a rig so 4 would be more secure. They also make compartment keyless entries (trick).

Costly but trick upgrade. Reviews here appear to be good, any others with good or bad experience?

I had version 3 on my last fiver. Mounted the keypad in the pass through storage area so my kids could get in if necessary. In the end, we never used it. The key fob was useful but it seemed over time, even with new batteries, I had to get closer to the door for it to work. Also, I don't really care to carry lots of keys in my pocket, and adding another key fob made it worse. It does work, but I will not put one on our Reflection.

Back in the spring I added an rvlock to my reflection. The one I installed allows me to switch off the fob and only use the keypad. I left the fob in the box along with old lock and keys so that when I trade, it will be easy to swap back.
As far as our experience....So far so good, and my kids love it because they don't have to carry a spare key when we are running separate paths.

You Did Not Use the Key Fob?

Is there an advantage to not using the key fob?

The only advantage I could think of would be to prolong my locks battery life. Plus no chance of another fob opening my lock.

We have had two of these locks, both have been horrible.

I bought a couple of these exact locks and had a couple cosmetic issues with the locks after shipping. The locks were immediately replaced by the company, no questions asked. I really like the locks and love having the fob in my pocket to lock and unlock with ease. I have electronic locks on two of my buildings on my farm and now my GD, I love them all. The ones on my RV are icing on the cake.

Nothing like digging up an old thread, but RV Locks is having a black Friday sale today. 40% off until noon MST. Then lesser amounts as the day goes on. Link: RV Locks
