I have a 2023 17MKE with a Furrion battery monitor in the cargo area. I will be replacing lead acid batteries with lithium batteries and also want to replace the current Furrion monitor with a Victron BMV-712 Smart Monitor (or Victron Smart Shunt). Where is the shunt for my current battery monitor so I can replace it with Victron, and how do I access it?

It's probably close to your battery. Follow the negative battery lead.

Thanks Soundsailor, that is what i hoped but it is not. The 6 guage negative cable from the batteries on toungue goes up into the underbelly cover (Corroplast), so not sure where it goes from there unless i pull that down. Maybe behind the wall of universal docking station in cargo area that the Furrion battery is mounted on? Don't want to start taking stuff apart until I ideally know for sure.

The shunt on my Imagine 2970RL was in the wet bay area. My Furrion monitor is mounted on the panel that has all of my water valves, red battery disconnect, etc. When you remove that panel the shunt is mounted directly behind it. You should see a large bundle of wire that runs from your battery monitor to the shunt. It should be a very easy conversion for both the shunt and the battery monitor. Let me know how it goes as I'm thinking of doing the same so that I can monitor my system from an app.

Well if push comes to shove, just leave the Furion battery shunt wherever it is hidden and ignore it. Put the new Victron shunt close to the battery and where you can access it for the install, then use the Victron app on your phone to monitor the battery draw/SOC/etc. Leaving the Furion in place will not hurt anything at all.
