Replacing Spray Dock Port

Had water gushing out of the side of our Solitude last trip. Found that the Dura Faucet, DF-SA-184-8K, spray dock port was cracked. Ordered a replacement on Amazon. Original one has a glued rubber gasket attached to it. The new one has no gasket. Called the manufacturer and they state that it does not need a gasket and can be installed without one. Has anyone installed one without a gasket and agree it doesn’t need one be? Manufacturer states a gasket is not made for it. Guess I could silicone it.

How big is the gasket area? I've had luck repurposing some hose gaskets that I cut to size. Nod to silicone.
