Howdy all.
I'd like to replace the stock TV in the trailer. It has several dead pixels and I truely hate the remote.
Any brand recomendations?
If there is a brand of smart tv that is more suitable to life in the 5th wheel please let me know.
Thank you in advance for your comments.

I don't think any brand is more RV friendly than another; but Jenson would have you believe their's is.

I do not like LG or Sony simply because of the menu system. My preference is Samsung for 2 reasons: it has Apple Play and I can send my Apple device screens to the TV easily (using my on board router).

Even a Vizio might do that. Not sure. But it is a good TV for the price.

TCL and Roku are NOT on my list at all. That Roku remote is horrible.

Outside of Jensen, I don't think any other makes anything RV-specific or RV-rated. Jensen probably uses identical components but is powered by 12VDC out of the box. I've had Samsungs in the past and still do in our 5er bedroom as well as several in our sticks and stone, but I really like the Smart 4K Vizio I put in as the main RV TV.

Although the TCL tvs aren't my favorite, we could not find another brand 43" smart TV replacement that would fit in our infotainment cabinet openning and TCL made one. We have had good luck with it and replaced all of our remotes (TCL, Furrion DV3300, Dish 211K, fireplace, and wall heater) with a programable single 8 device Logitech Harmony remote.

We added a 32" Sony smart TV in our OEM bedroom wall space location. We have added IR relocation kits to remote operate our single Dish 211K receiver located in the living room infotainment cabinet for bedroom TV viewing.

Both TVs have traveled and performed well on the road. Especially when needing to watch our Dish Hopper 3 at our stick built using the smart cast option on our phones without having to get out the playmaker dish or hookup cable for single overnight CG stays.

Good idea with that Logitech remote. I use them at home. Just don't need it in the RV (yet).

fwiw... the Wally receivers use an RF remote, so no IR extenders are necessary. Just threw that in for others to consider.

Do agree.... the Wally is a more advanced receiver with better GUI and UHF dish remote controllable.

The only issue I ran into with the Wallys was the limited number of video connections. The VIP211Ks have both COAX/HDMI/YPbPr video connections. I use the COAX to back feed channel 3 thru a reversed splitter/combiner to pass the VIP211K output thru the RV COAX to all other COAX outputs, plus can still use HDMI for living room TV simultaneously.

The Wallys would require a HDMI splitter and then converter to COAX to achieve the same thing. The VIP211K has OTA modulator built in where the Wallys require a dongle for locals.

I replaced the garbage tcl in our solitude with a Toshiba smartfire tv. It’s held up well so far. Three and a half years and close to 30k towed miles.
I also have the same tv on our patio and it’s been flawless for 6 plus years. Hard to beat for the price. Definitely not the best picture quality compared to say a Sony or lg but the price is reflective of that.

I personally have had good luck with Samsung tvs.

This spring I replaced the standard Roku tv in our coach with a Vizio. There is a big difference with menus and operation making it much easier. We went from 40” to 42” and used the same mounting hardware. Again it’s
all about preferences.
