Replacing the Electric Heater Element on Atwood Refer

Here you go.

1) Disconnect all energy sources including AC power, 12 volt power, and gas.

2) Remove outside lower access cover then see picture for component locations.

3) Remove single screw on heat shield and pull back on it to access control board cover screws.

4) Remove 4 control board cover screws and remove cover.

5) Remove heater cable retaining screw.

6) Disconnect 2 red heater wires from control board.

7) Remove ground wire screw and cut wire ties loose as needed.

8) Release heater cover tab shown in picture and remove heater access cover. (Note: only remove the small section of cover.)

9) Move insulation around enough to allow heater to pull straight up approximately 6 inches until it is out of heater tube and remove heater.

10) Check 3 amp heater fuse on control board and replace if needed.

11) Reverse procedure to install.
