Hi all,

I recently broke a equalizer hanger and decided to upgrade to the Roadmaster shock and slipper springs. After a lot of reading I am torn between the 7k and 8k kits. The trailer is a 2016 Momentum 350M with the 7k axles. Roadmaster recommended the 2570 kit "up to 7000 lb axles".

My thought is the 2570 is rated for my axles but it is a maxed out rating. Although it is designed for it.... maybe I am over thinking things but would the 8k setup be better if I run at or just over my gross trailer rating sometimes? I know my axles are rated at the 7k and that won't change but the springs seem to be the weak point.

Just wondering others thoughts and how you like this setup if you have it. Also if you did the 8k kit for the 7k axles.

Thanks!
Don

I replaced the springs, 7k axles and drum brakes on our 2019 372-WB several years ago. We owned the Solitude about one year and the springs went flat. Also, the brakes were never more than hope and a prayer. I installed RoadMaster slipper springs, shocks, 8k axles and disk brakes from Performance Trailer Braking. I would make the same decision again.

I'm not familiar with the 350M, but I did install the 7k system (slippers and shocks) on our S-Class Solitude 2930RL and could not be happier with the results. While I'm no spring expert, the Roadmaster provided leaf springs look like a high-quality assembly when compared to the typical RV trailer replacements that I've seen. I'd go to the 8k version only if you need to. The last thing you want to do is beef up your suspension so much that its unable to do its job.
