So after reviewing my insurance declined the new roof. They said tape and some no sag sealant would be the recommended fix. They felt the dealership damaged the roof too based on the how recent the damage appeared. The very white caulk area as compared to the yellowing caulk. I haven’t had it out since July so they felt it was recent and the dealership isn’t owning up to it nor can I prove it. I’ll tape it as suggested and move on.
As a result I found Lifetime RV Roofs that are sprayed on if anyone is familiar with those. They are half the cost of a roof replacement and supposedly adds value to your RV although I don’t plan to sell it and less concerned about value. But, I like the product and it is more resilient overall. I will likely have this done when we return in the spring. It’s about $190 per linear foot and I feel the peace of mind is worth just doing it. I’ll try to add a picture to this thread if someone would find it helpful.
In the end, the lesson learned was to stay away from these dealerships. Never again will I go to a Grand Design “authorized” dealer for service. I’ve found several mobile and other just service repair shops near me. Grand Design should really rethink this part of their business model IMO. Good product for the most part but no back room like a car dealership to service properly.
