Does anyone ruck? DW and I have ruck sacks on order with the Molle system. Molle means Modular, light-weight, load-carrying equipment, and we are going to get into this. Start walking slow and work up to weight in the ruck.

We backpacked for many years. Does that count? [emoji4] I did use a light weight MOLLE pack, at one time, since I'm more of a minimalist packer/wilderness survivalist.

Did my share in the Army.... even thru airports, multiple countries and continents. Love to RV now! But... there is something about sleeping out among the stars!
;)

At 80, I hope I never have to sleep under the stars, on the ground again! I would not be able to move the next morning.

Got our ruck sacks in. We are very surprised by the quality of them. Not really expensive and made in China. Seem to be well made. Now to start using them.

First ruck went well. Starting slow and loving it. Luckily, we live up in the mountains of Colorado and have a lot of hiking trails here. Charlie, the mini schnauzer loves hiking.

Just started-used a backpack with a large bag of dog food. Waiting to invest in a ruck weight plate so save money and storage space.

I ruck on weekends (5 miles with 30lb plate) and do a short ruck at lunch on workdays (2 miles with 20lb plate). It's great to burn extra calories and build strength while doing something I love (walking/hiking). The investment in quality boots/shoes and socks is worth the money. I also use HikeGoo(https://footkinetics.com/products/) to prevent blisters.
For anyone considering rucking, start slow and light. Use water filled jugs/bags for weight. You can always dump the water if the weight is too much.
