Rust in galley sink and sink cover

We have a 2024 295 RLS. We took ownership a couple months ago. The galley sink has several rust spots developing. The sink cover has some rust spots as well. Anyone else have this issue? I haven’t seen anyone post on this issue. I certainly don’t think I’m the only one. I’m thinking this is covered under warranty.

Are you sure it isn't from leaving something like a tin food can? My wife has had to train me & our boys to not leave cans/lids in our stix&brix sink because of rusting. Wasn't an issue growing up because recycling wasn't really a thing in the 70s and 80s..

When we bought it home for the first time we ran water through the system. When we were done we put it in storage. After a couple weeks we took it out of storage and that’s when we noticed the rust. The sink and cover have been to remove the rust but it still comes back. Basically it’s a brand new sink used for the first time.

Cheap stainless? My plumber buddy always said when shopping for sinks, look at the nickel content. The more the better.
