I heard from a NAPA district manager today... get RV antifreeze when you can. Supposedly, there will be a supply shortage within a couple of weeks. If you do find it, you'll pay a lot more than normal. Windshield washer fluid too.
I bought 4 gallons today at Family, Farm and Home for 2/$5.00.

I recall Johnny Carson on his late night TV show mentioning a potential shortage of toilet paper. Soon after that there was a shortage of toilet paper caused by everyone going to the store and hoarding it.

Seems to me every season about this time the prices climb on the RV antifreeze. I attribute it to simple supply/demand...and buy mine in July for $2.50/gallon instead of October for $6.

Most of the antifreeze for RVs and boats is made by one company with two locations and then rebranded as dozens of different products. Last year someone was asleep at the wheel at one of the locations and didn't put enough propylene glycol in the mixture and no one noticed...for a long time. 50% of what they had shipped out was basically worthless as antifreeze. It all had to be recalled at great cost. So this year several major brands like Camco and Quicksilver chose not to renew their contracts with said manufacturer, and due to chemical shortages now they can't source enough to fill orders.

Been in two farm stores plus Menards where they have pallets of it at $2.20 a gallon.

Dittom- just bought my supply. $2.40 at Menards for the -50. But I paid $4.50 for the -75 stuff they had also. 13 gallons - 3 for the RV, 10 for the swimming pool. I KNOW I can never get all the water out of the pool lines, so even if the AF dilutes a bit, I should be safer for the Minnesota winter. And the extra $6 for the 3 gal for the RV won't put me in the poor house.

There was plenty at Home Depot this afternoon. I ended up buying my supply although a better plan would be to just head south for the winter.

Dang it! I just bought 6 gallons at FF last week for $3.99/gal. Assumed that was the going rate. Went to Mendard's today but didn't even look to see how much it was. Always a day early and a dollar more. :)

Was at my local Walmart and picked up some antifreeze. They had several pallets out, and several end caps filled with gallon jugs of it. On sale I believe at $2.20 a gallon.
