We live in northwest Arkansas and have been RVing for over 30 years, starting with a popup then graduating to a travel trailer. We are first time Grand Design owners. Actually we haven't bought one yet but are going to buy either an Imagine 2970RL or a Reflection 297RSTS. This will be our 4th RV. Really having trouble deciding between the Imagine and the Reflection.
Our tow vehicle is a 2022 F250 4x4 with the 7.3L engine.
The Imagine is a bit lighter and very nice but the finishes and other items are nicer on the Reflection. Basically, is the Reflection worth the added cost and towing weight? Any input would be welcome.
Glad to be part of the forum and looking forward to buying a Grand Design.
Thanks,
OwenW

Welcome to the forum Owen, glad to have you as a soon-to-be member of the GD family. Personally, in your situation, I would be looking hard at the Reflection 295RL. It's probably right at the most your truck could handle (maybe even slightly over), but it's a fifth wheel. Having owned both a bumper pull and a 5er, it would take an awful lot to get me to go back to a TT. Number one, the hitching is SO much easier. We have the Andersen hitch. All I have to do is center the cup over the ball and lower it. I can't tell you how many times I struggled with the weight-distributing hitch I had before. Number 2 is the headroom. As a taller guy, it really helps to have the greater headroom you get in a 5er. And I really love the idea of "going upstairs to bed." Good luck with your choice, let us know how you make out.

Thanks for the information. I keep a camper shell on my truck so taking that on and off eliminates the fifth wheel option for now. I have no issues with a bumper pull so I will stick with that. Who knows, maybe I will covet a fifth wheel in the future and ditch the camper shell.
