Sorry to hear about your loss. It's really terrible to lose them. We just lost our 14 year old Cat to Cancer last week. He was the favorite of our two cats in the house. My granddaughter and wife were VERY upset about it. Well, we all were but those two more so as he. followed my wife everywhere, and my granddaughter whenever she is here. Unfortunately, our other cat (about 16) is not doing well either.![]()
Sorry to hear that. 5 is so young. We lost a 4 yr old dog once...it's way too soon when you assume you'll have them for a lot longer. We're currently in what is likely the last weeks for one of our dogs, but at 16 she's lived a good long life. Never easy though.
We lost another of our family ,this time it was sudden and unexpected. Skye passed away last Sunday night . Could likely have been a blood clot ,but we'll likely never know.. It's a pretty quiet place with only one dog in the trailer. She had a short but happy 5 yr life .

Marcy, so sorry to hear. We've lost our share of dogs and cats including one of our Collies at six - all unique members of the family. The past two years we've lost one of a pair of shepherd/heeler mix (Cosmo) and two cats - including our 19 yo favorite. Losing Cosmo was very hard as we were on our first trip with the trailer out to Sioux Falls and had taken him to the vet the day before we left because we knew something was wrong. Turned out he was diabetic. One of our boys was giving him insulin shots and IV fluids to see if he could keep him alive until DW returned - she was glued to him. Constant phone calls and cutting the stressful trip short. A couple of days after we got home, we had to take him to the vets in a constant seizure - felt like the longest trip ever. DW still tears up as do I. All you can do is remember the good.
