Safe Water Pressure Level

NO

Is there a recommended maximum city water pressure level on the 303 (and others)? Is there a standard from GD?
I've always run a 30psi regulator on my other camping units (07s) but see the vendors offer 45psi. I'd like a bit more pressure if it can be done without risk of blowing plumbing apart. What do you folks use?

Planning to do the kitchen and shower faucet R/R mod when I get the unit (next week I'm hoping - it was supposed to come off the assembly line Tuesday 23).

Thanks all.

Hi Gary, Erin & Kitty (@notnsuv),

Please add your 17-digit RV VIN to the "About Me" section of your forum profile, or send me a private message (PM) with your VIN, name and phone number. Thank you in advance...

Best regards,
~ Janice

Thanks Janice. I plan to add VIN to my profile but haven't received the 303 yet. I don't know if the dealer will have that info on the paperwork but I can swing by there today if you think he will.

The pex pipe is rated for 160 psi. kantleak valve rated for 100 psi.

The weak link here is the connectors that attach the pex to the fittings - how robust they are and how well they were attached at the factory. I don't think I'd do 100 psi.

the pex in my unit is made up the way the pex in new construction homes are made up.

I read from someone else on here that the connectors used are not PEX branded but some other knockoff.

Thanks Janice.

I was hoping you were going to tell me my new 303 is in transit.. lol

The pex water systems in new homes are solid copper rings crimping the pex tubing to brass or copper fittings. On the RV, the pex tubing is clamped to plastic fittings with what is essentially a crimped hose clamp. I can't imagine our RV systems standing up to 100 psi . . . particularly on the hot water side.

I use a 40 psi regulator at the post and monitor pressure at the RV with a separate pressure gauge. 40 psi is sufficient for the shower but there is another problem restricting flow to the galley faucets. I think the solution to this is changing out the galley faucets.

The Kantleak valve won't turn at 40 psi . . . functioning at 100 psi would be impossible.

.. and from another thread, the Kantleak valve should not be turned with water from the supply side 'on'. Result is blown 'o'-rings.
